Traveling Pet Parent? Grooming & Boarding near El Paso Airport Made Easy

Traveling can be stressful enough – worrying about your furry friend while you’re away doesn’t have to add to it. If you’re a pet parent in El Paso planning a trip, we have great news: you can take care of your dog’s boarding and grooming all in one place, right by the airport. That means as you jet off, your pup gets their own vacation (complete with pampering), and you pick up a happy, clean dog on your return. Let’s explore how The Fur Seasons – located conveniently near El Paso International Airport – makes travel easier for you and your pet.

Location, Location, Location

El Paso’s airport is on the east side of town, and if you live on the west or northeast, you know that can be a drive. The Fur Seasons is located just 5 minutes from El Paso International Airport, nestled off major routes. What does this mean for you?

  • You can drop your dog off right before your flight without having to criss-cross the city. In fact, many of our clients swing by on the way to the airport – it’s that close. No need to allot an extra hour for pet drop-off.

  • Upon return, you can retrieve your pup on the way home from the airport. If you have a long flight and can’t wait to see your dog, you’ll be reunited in minutes after landing. And you won’t arrive home to a messy dog or pet-sitter disasters – your dog will have been in professional care the whole time.

  • If you have a delay or an odd flight time, our 7-day-a-week hours help accommodate. We have staff on-site early and late (boarding hours typically 7am-7pm on weekdays, 8am-3pm on weekends), so even if you’re catching an early morning departure, we can arrange for you to drop off your pet bright and early. Likewise, if your flight gets in right before closing, we’ll be there.

Simply put, our location near the airport is a game-changer for traveling pet owners. It cuts out extra commuting and gives you peace of mind that you can quickly handle drop-off and pick-up as part of your travel routine.

Boarding at The Fur Seasons: A Vacation for Your Pet

While you’re away, why not let your dog enjoy a little luxury? The Fur Seasons offers top-tier boarding options to keep your pup comfortable and entertained:

  • Dog Luxury Suite: Our luxury suites are the ultimate in pet boarding. Pamper your pup with daily treats, relaxing music, and their favorite show – Dog World – playing all day. These suites are spacious and private, complete with cozy bedding (we use off-the-floor Kuranda beds and plush blankets). It truly feels like a hotel room designed for dogs. Some pups love watching the dog-friendly TV, while others bask in the quiet comfort. Either way, it’s a low-stress environment. We stick to your dog’s feeding schedule and can accommodate special diets. It’s perfect for pups who are used to being the king or queen of the castle at home.

  • Standard Suite: Our standard boarding option is fantastic too, especially for active or social dogs. By day, your dog enjoys all-day group play or individual playtime – your choice. We have indoor and outdoor play areas where dogs are grouped by size and temperament, supervised by trained staff. Does your dog prefer one-on-one human attention or have mobility issues? We’ll do individual play sessions catered to them. After a day of fun, dogs retire to a comfy standard suite (think large kennel run) for meals and overnight. It’s climate-controlled and cleaned daily. We also offer an Additional Dog – 15% off discount if you have siblings sharing a suite, so they can stay and play together.

  • Cat Boarding: Yep, we take care of feline friends too in a separate kitty condo area. They get a quiet space away from doggo noise and personalized playtime. (Cats are required to be vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP, by the way.)

  • Amenities: We offer Late Check-out for boarding (there’s a small fee if you pick up after 12 PM, since we aren’t a 24-hour facility), which is useful if your return flight is later in the day. We also have Extra Personal Playtime sessions you can add if you think your pup would enjoy even more one-on-one love. And for pets on medication, our staff handles Pill Administration like pros – no injections, but oral meds are no problem (we often hide them in cheese or peanut butter unless you instruct otherwise).

We basically design our boarding around the idea that your pet should have as good a time as you (or better!). Many dogs drag their owners out of our lobby because they can’t wait to go play with their friends again.

The Magic of the “Groom & Board” Combo

Now, here’s where things get really convenient: combining grooming with boarding. This is a signature service we offer that traveling pet parents absolutely love:

  • Exit Bath or Full Groom: Dogs tend to get a bit dirty or doggy-smelling after a few days of boarding, even with our clean facility (all that playtime can equal slobber or dust in the fur). So, we can schedule an exit bath – a fresh bath right on the last day of their stay. Or if your pup is due for a full haircut, we can do a full groom instead. Essentially, you have the option to pick up a dog that’s not only over-the-moon excited to see you, but also looks and smells their best. Within a couple hours before your pickup, we’ll have your dog bathed, fluffed, and ready to impress. Think of it as our version of a hotel “turn-down service,” but with shampoo!

  • No Extra Trips: This saves you a separate trip to the groomer after vacation. Who wants another errand? You’re already coming to get your dog – why not have the grooming done during the stay? It’s efficient and seamless. For example, one of our clients frequently travels for work – she boards her two dogs with us and we groom them the morning of her return. She jokes that it’s like getting back “improved versions” of her pets (of course, they’re always perfect to her, but they’re definitely fluffier and cleaner).

  • Less Stress on the Dog: If your dog is already with us, they’re comfortable with the environment and staff. Getting groomed here while boarding means no extra hand-off or change of scenery. It’s especially good for anxious dogs – they don’t have to go from kennel to car to groomer to car to home in one day. Instead, it’s all under one roof. They play in the morning, then get groomed, then you show up – from their perspective, it’s just one big fun stay.

  • Perfect Timing: We often aim to finish the groom right around your scheduled pick-up time. That way, Daisy or Max is basically fresh off the spa table when you arrive. We’ll coordinate with you on pick-up timing so your pet isn’t waiting too long after the groom (or we finish just minutes before you get there). If you’re flying in and your flight’s delayed – no worry, our boarding team will keep your pet comfy until you arrive, and we’ll adjust grooming timing if needed.

One cool thing: if you’re coming off a long flight and swing by to get your dog, the fact that they’re clean and brushed means you can hug and cuddle them freely (nothing like doggy snuggles to shake off travel stress). We’ve had people say, “I was as excited for that clean dog smell as I was to see my dog!”

Tips for a Smooth Boarding + Grooming Experience

  • Book Early: El Paso’s a travel-heavy town (lots of military, cross-border trips, etc.), so both our boarding and grooming slots can fill up, especially around holidays. If you know your trip dates, reserve the boarding and request the grooming at the same time. It’s one phone call or a few clicks on our website – easy peasy.

  • Provide Vaccine Records: Remember, for boarding and grooming, we need up-to-date vaccine records (rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella). Most of our regular clients are all set, but if anything is expiring before your trip, get it updated so we can safely host your pup. (We covered vaccines in detail in our earlier blog post – give it a read if you have questions.)

  • Pack Smart: Bring a bit of your dog’s regular food (we suggest enough for a couple extra days, just in case). We have food but keeping them on their diet is usually best. Feel free to bring a comfort item – like a t-shirt with your scent or their favorite toy – for boarding. We’ll remove it during grooming to keep it dry, but they can have it in their suite. Let us know if you want any special shampoos or grooming instructions; we’ll note it down at drop-off.

  • Spoil Away (if you want): You can enhance your pet’s stay with extra treats or play sessions. Some owners add a nightly treat or a midday Kong with peanut butter for their dogs while boarding. Rest assured, if you’re the one on vacation, your dog can be living it up too. We even offer dog-safe ice cream treats on hot days!

  • Two-Way Communication: We will contact you (or your emergency contact) if anything concerning comes up with your pet during your trip – whether it’s an upset tummy or just sending you a cute photo. And you can always check in with us. We respond to messages and calls promptly during business hours. So if you miss Fido and want an update, just ask – we’re happy to oblige with a “Rex is having a blast, here’s a pic of him napping after playing all morning” message.

Return to a Happy, Clean Pup

There’s nothing better after a long trip than the excited wag of your dog’s tail when they see you again. We strive to make that moment extra wonderful by ensuring your pet is healthy, happy, and yes, freshly groomed. Clients often tell us their dog almost doesn’t want to leave because they had such a great time – but once they’re home snuggling on the couch, they settle right back in.

By choosing a place that offers both grooming and boarding near the airport, you’ve streamlined one big aspect of travel. You can head out of town knowing your dog is in a safe, caring environment, and you’ll come home to a pup that’s been well cared for (and probably a bit spoiled) in your absence. No need to make a grooming appointment days later or live with “dog kennel smell” – we’ve handled it.

The Fur Seasons: Pet Hotel & Grooming is proud to be that all-in-one solution for El Paso travelers. Many of our military families, vacationers, and business travelers have become regulars because they love the convenience and, more importantly, they see how happy their pets are with us.

So next time you book a flight, why not book your pet’s stay and spa with us too? Travel light, knowing your four-legged family member will be having their own fun and pampering. When you both reunite, you’ll be ready for all those welcome-home cuddles – without any worry about baths, tangles, or trimmed nails.

Safe travels, and we look forward to hosting (and grooming) your pet! Bon voyage for you, and for your pup – bon voyage to The Fur Seasons, where pets vacation in style. 🐾✈️
