A Day in the Life at The Fur Seasons Pet Hotel: From Playtime to Bedtime

Updated: Jul 14, 2025

Have you ever wondered what your dog or cat actually does while staying at a pet hotel or daycare? At The Fur Seasons Pet Hotel & Grooming, every day is structured to keep our furry guests happy, healthy, and feeling loved. We know it’s important for pet parents in El Paso to know their babies are not just sitting in a kennel. So, let’s take you through a fun, typical day at The Fur Seasons – you might just wish you could spend the day here too!

Morning: A Warm Welcome and Playtime Begins

7:00 AM – The day starts with tail wags and gentle purrs as pets wake up to a new day. Our staff is on-site bright and early to do morning rounds. Dogs are taken out to our outdoor yard for their first potty break under the cool morning sky (El Paso mornings are lovely!). Cats get a morning check-in and some chin scratches to start the day. We serve breakfast per each pet’s usual routine – whether it’s kibble, wet food, or a special diet, every bowl is labeled and prepared just the way they like it. After breakfast settles, it’s time for playgroup! Dogs head to the play yards in compatible groups (we match by size and temperament, so everyone has buddies they’re comfortable with). Imagine your pup dashing around our large outdoor play yard, chasing toys or playing tag with new friends. Inside our 7,000 sq. ft. facility, the climate-controlled playroom is stocked with toys, tunnels, and even kiddie pools in the summer for splash time. Our trained staff supervise closely – it’s like a fun dog park with constant lifeguards. You might catch your dog on our live webcam romping with a grin on their face!

Midday: Snack, Rest & TLC

By midday, even the most energetic pups are ready for a breather. 12:00 PM – We gather everyone for a calm lunchtime or snack (for those who eat midday or could use a treat). This is followed by “nap time” – yes, just like preschool! After a full morning of play, dogs naturally curl up for a rest. We dim the lights, play soft calming music in the background, and everyone relaxes in our indoor suites or quiet areas. Some dogs cuddle up with the comfy blankets from home that owners have provided, which helps them feel extra secure. Meanwhile, our cat guests are probably lounging as they do best – we might find them perched on a sunny windowsill in their private kitty condos. Midday is also when our staff does a thorough check: we administer any medications needed, refill water bowls with fresh cool water, and give belly rubs or ear scratches to anyone who wants a little one-on-one attention. It’s these little moments of TLC that make pets feel truly at home.

Afternoon: More Fun and Personalized Activities

2:00 PM – Nap time’s over and it’s back to fun! The afternoon might include another round of group play outside (depending on the weather – in hot months, we schedule shorter, shaded play sessions and provide lots of water games to keep pups cool). For variety, we also incorporate enrichment activities: maybe a puzzle toy session for the brainy dogs, a game of “find the treat,” or some basic agility exercises in our play yard. Dogs absolutely love these challenges and come back looking very proud of themselves. If a pet is signed up for a grooming session, we often schedule it in the afternoon. So you might have a pup who goes in for a bath and comes out later even more handsome and fresh (we often hear owners say their dog smells amazing at pickup time!). Cats get afternoon play too – our staff might dangle feather toys or laser pointers for a bit of kitty exercise and play. Each pet at The Fur Seasons also gets personal attention: we give hugs, brush-outs for those who enjoy it, and engage in their favorite activities. One dog might love fetch; another might just want to sit by a caretaker and get pets – we tailor our care to each personality.

Early Evening: Dinner and Wind-Down

As the sun starts to set, pets are winding down as well. 5:00 PM – It’s dinnertime. We serve each pet their own dinner per your instructions (keeping feeding times consistent with home as much as possible). You bet there are lots of happy munching sounds. After dinner, dogs are let out again for potty breaks and a final romp as a group. This is usually a gentler play session – the pups are a bit mellower after a full day, and you’ll see them trotting around or gently wrestling with their best buddies. We keep a close eye to ensure everyone plays nicely (as always). By now, pets have formed their little friend circles and it truly looks like a canine (and feline) camp where everyone had a great day.

Night: Cozy Comfort and Sweet Dreams

As evening settles in, we transition into bedtime mode. 8:00–9:00 PM – Dogs are brought into their individual boarding suites or kennels for the night. Each suite at The Fur Seasons Pet Hotel is clean, comfy, and prepared with fresh bedding. In our luxury kennels, we even have TVs playing soothing nature videos or lullaby-like music – it sounds silly, but the dogs love it! It creates a homey ambiance and drowns out outside noises, helping them relax. Our staff does a final tuck-in: we make sure each pet has water, fluff up their blankets, give any nighttime meds or an extra potty break if needed, and of course, a goodnight pat. Cats, being nocturnal, might be up grooming themselves or exploring their cat condo levels. We give them some evening affection and make sure they’re all set with a clean litter box and fresh water. Lights go down to mimic a normal night. Throughout the night, pet CPR-certified staff are on duty making periodic rounds and monitoring security cameras to ensure all is well (yes, we have 24/7 on-site care – your pets are never alone here). If a pup whines or seems restless, there’s someone there to comfort them.

After a full day of play, care, and relaxation at The Fur Seasons, most dogs sleep soundly, probably dreaming of chasing balls in tomorrow’s playgroup. Cats enjoy the quiet night, curled up as cozy as can be. When morning comes, we’ll be there to start the wonderful routine all over again.

In summary: a day at The Fur Seasons Pet Hotel & Grooming is filled with fun, love, and attentive care. We follow a schedule that balances active play with rest, so pets stay healthy and happy. As a pet parent, you can take comfort in knowing that your fur-baby’s day is structured and supervised from sunrise to bedtime. Next time you have to be away, imagine your dog making new friends in a big play yard or your cat lounging peacefully in a quiet suite – that’s the Fur Seasons experience. We’re here to give pets a home-away-from-home, and judging by all the wagging tails and purrs, we’d say our guests agree!
